Stillscape

Rainy Cafe
Focus Room

A living scene that breathes with your Pomodoro. Rain on the window, warm cafe hum, and a timer that quietly keeps you on track — so the only thing left to do is the work.

How it works

No login · No download · Free forever · Works offline

Four rooms to settle into

Switch scenes whenever the mood changes. Each one retunes the light, the weather and the soundscape.

🌧️

Rainy Cafe

Rain sliding down a cafe window while the room hums softly behind you. The default — and most people's favorite.

🔥

Fireplace Study

A crackling fire and amber light for cold nights, long drafts, and chapters that refuse to write themselves.

🌲

Morning Forest

Birds, breeze and green light. Slow starts, gentle energy, deep work before the day gets loud.

Starry Night

A quiet window onto the stars for late-night sessions, when the world is asleep and the page is yours.

Everything fades away except the work

A complete focus toolkit, hidden behind one button.

🍅

Three timer modes

Classic Pomodoro with automatic long breaks and Deep Work / 52-17 presets, a free countdown from 1–120 minutes, or a simple stopwatch.

🎚️

A real sound mixer

Rain, fire, forest, cafe, ambient music and white noise on independent faders — with five music tracks to switch between.

Task list

Name the one thing you're working on. Finished pomodoros count themselves toward the task in focus.

📊

Stats, day to month

A 14-day heatmap, weekly and monthly views, and streak counts. All stored privately on your device.

📺

Picture-in-picture

A floating mini-timer that stays on top of your windows, plus fullscreen mode for complete immersion.

Your room, your rules

Upload your own background image, or install Stillscape as an offline PWA. No two focus rooms look alike.

How it works

  1. 1

    Enter the room

One tap. Sound begins in your browser — nothing to install, nothing to sign up for.

  2. 2

    Name your task, press play

A 25-minute focus block begins. The scene dims, the rain leans in, and the timer stays in your peripheral vision.

  3. 3

    Breathe on the break

The room warms up and guides your breathing for five minutes. Then the next block calls you back.

Questions

Is Stillscape really free?

Yes — completely. No account, no paywall, no data leaving your device. Your tasks, settings and statistics live in your browser's local storage.

Do I need to install anything?

No. It runs in any modern browser. On mobile or desktop you can also use "Add to Home Screen" to launch it fullscreen like an app.

Does it work offline?

After the first visit, a service worker keeps the timer and interface running offline. Scenes and sounds stream while you're online.

Which browsers are supported?

Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox, on desktop and mobile. The picture-in-picture floating timer is supported natively in Chrome and Edge; other browsers get a draggable on-page mini-timer instead.

What exactly is the Pomodoro Technique?

It breaks work into 25-minute focused blocks separated by short breaks, usually with a longer rest every four blocks. Read our complete guide to the Pomodoro Technique to learn more.

Why do rain sounds help people focus?

Ambient rain masks unpredictable noise and keeps your brain just busy enough to stop wandering. We break down the science in why rain sounds help you focus.
